Cilento

Where Magna Graecia meets the sea

The region

Welcome to Cilento

Cilento is the most authentic stretch of the Campanian coast: cliffs, stone villages, Greek temples and olive-growing countryside. The study of the Mediterranean diet began here, and so does the METIS journey.

Much of the area belongs to the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia.

Away from mass tourism, Cilento keeps a slow pace, a simple yet extraordinary cuisine and communities that pass down crafts and traditions.
